New Delhi, October 29, 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the last date to submit the online application for the UGC NET December 2026 examination to October 31, 2026, at 11:50 pm, without a late fee. The same deadline applies to successful payment of the examination fee.
The extension was announced in an NTA public notice dated October 27. The agency said the additional time is intended to help candidates who have not completed their application process. Applicants are advised to submit the form well before the deadline to reduce the risk of last-minute technical problems.
What candidates should do
- Complete the online application by 11:50 pm on October 31.
- Ensure the examination-fee transaction is completed by the same deadline.
- Check the official portal for instructions and any subsequent notices.
UGC NET determines eligibility for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as an Assistant Professor and admission to PhD programmes at Indian universities and colleges. Candidates should rely on NTA notices for any further changes to the schedule.
