New Delhi, October 31, 2026: The Centre has released the 24th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), transferring more than ₹18,690 crore to over 9.34 crore eligible farmers on October 30, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
The instalment was released during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s programme in Banaskantha, Gujarat. Each eligible farmer family receives ₹2,000 in this instalment, credited directly to its bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
What the 24th instalment means
PM-KISAN provides eligible landholding farmer families with ₹6,000 a year in three equal instalments of ₹2,000. With the latest transfer, cumulative disbursements under the scheme have crossed ₹4.64 lakh crore, the government said.
The Union Cabinet approved continuation of PM-KISAN from 2026-27 to 2030-31 with a total financial outlay of ₹3.15 lakh crore. The Union Budget 2026-27 has allocated ₹60,000 crore for the scheme.
Eligibility and payment status
Beneficiaries must have their land records seeded on the PM-KISAN portal, an Aadhaar-linked bank account and completed e-KYC. Farmers who have not received the instalment can check their beneficiary and payment status on the official PM-KISAN portal and contact their local agriculture office or Common Service Centre if their records need correction.
The government says the digital verification and DBT process is intended to reduce intermediaries, prevent duplicate payments and ensure that assistance reaches eligible farmer families directly.
