New Delhi, November 4, 2026: Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) reported a sharp increase in profitability for the September quarter of financial year 2026–27, with consolidated net profit rising to ₹454.57 crore from ₹197.47 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The increase represents year-on-year growth of approximately 130.8%, according to the exchange’s unaudited financial results approved by its board on November 3. The results point to a strong quarter for India’s largest commodity derivatives exchange as trading activity expanded across key segments.

Revenue from operations rises 114%

MCX’s consolidated revenue from operations increased to ₹799.66 crore in Q2 FY27, compared with ₹374.23 crore a year earlier, a rise of about 114%. Total income stood at ₹851.28 crore, against ₹400.79 crore in the year-ago quarter.

Consolidated profit before tax was ₹639.24 crore, compared with ₹248.88 crore in the corresponding period last year. These figures are based on the company’s reported consolidated results; revenue from operations and total income are separate measures.

Commodity trading activity remains strong

MCX reported average daily turnover (ADT) of ₹62,819 crore in futures during the quarter. Average daily turnover in options was reported at ₹12,00,129 crore. Higher activity in commodity derivatives contributed to the exchange’s stronger income performance.

MCX facilitates trading in bullion, energy, base metals and agricultural commodities. Its platform is used by market participants for price discovery and risk management, although trading in commodity derivatives carries substantial risk and is not suitable for every investor.

What the results indicate

The quarterly figures show that the exchange benefited from higher trading activity and a sharp increase in operating income. However, one quarter’s performance should not be treated as a guarantee of future earnings. Trading volumes can fluctuate with commodity-price volatility, market participation, regulation and broader economic conditions.

Investors should refer to the company’s complete financial statements and stock-exchange disclosures before making any investment decision. This report is for news and information purposes and is not investment advice.
