New Delhi, October 31, 2026: Several parts of India are likely to experience unsettled weather on Saturday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting heavy rainfall in parts of Arunachal Pradesh, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are also likely in a number of states.

States under rainfall and thunderstorm watch

The forecast indicates that Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karnataka and Telangana may experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds. Isolated thunderstorm activity is also expected in parts of Chhattisgarh and coastal Karnataka.

For parts of interior Karnataka and Telangana, the forecast mentions lightning and gusty winds in the range of 30–40 kmph. The IMD has also issued a sea-weather warning for parts of the Bay of Bengal and along the Andhra Pradesh coast, where squally conditions may develop.

Advice for residents

People in areas affected by thunderstorms should avoid open fields, isolated trees and exposed structures during lightning activity. Fishermen and those involved in coastal operations should follow the latest official marine advisories. Local conditions can change, so residents should check district-level alerts before travelling.

Delhi is expected to remain partly cloudy, with no rainfall forecast in the cited update.
