Published: 3 November 2026 (IST) | Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan: Eight workers were killed and five others injured after a road-construction machine came into contact with an overhead high-tension electricity line in Chhapoli village of Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu district on Monday morning, November 2, according to police reports cited by multiple news organisations.
The incident took place in the Udaipurwati area while workers were engaged in road construction. Police told news outlets that the machine used for mixing gravel and sand touched the overhead line, allowing electric current to pass through the equipment and injure workers at the site.
