Patna, October 31, 2026: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has cancelled its recruitment process for 1,711 Assistant Professor (Specialty) posts in government medical colleges and hospitals across the state.
The cancelled advertisements are numbered 04/2025 to 28/2025 and relate to regular appointments under the Bihar Health Department. According to the commission’s notice, the decision followed the withdrawal of petitions by the department and a revision of the recruitment requisition.
Fresh advertisements being prepared
BPSC has indicated that the process of issuing new advertisements is underway in view of the revised requirements. However, the commission has not announced a confirmed date for the fresh notifications.
What candidates should do
Applicants who had applied under the earlier advertisements should not assume that their previous application will automatically carry forward. Candidates should monitor the official BPSC website for the revised notification, eligibility conditions, application process and any instructions about fees or previously submitted documents.
The cancellation affects posts across medical specialities in Bihar’s government medical colleges and hospitals.
