Amul has increased the retail prices of selected ghee and butter products, citing higher input costs of milk production. The revised prices took effect from November 2, according to the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets products under the Amul brand.
New Amul prices
- Amul ghee, one-litre pouch: ₹680
- Amul cow ghee, one-litre pouch: ₹735
- Amul table butter, 500-gram pack: ₹325
The 500-gram table butter pack has become ₹15 costlier, while the one-litre ghee pouch has seen a ₹40 increase, according to the reported revised maximum retail prices.
Why prices have increased
GCMMF said the revision was driven by an increase in the cost of milk production. The cooperative said it is owned by 36 lakh farmers. Its turnover rose 11.4% to ₹73,450 crore in FY26, according to the report.
Actual retail prices and availability can vary by pack size, product variant and retailer. Consumers should check the printed maximum retail price on the pack before purchase.
