New Delhi, October 27, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC 2026) at Bharat Mandapam at 5:30 p.m. today, according to the Prime Minister’s Office. The three-day conclave will run from October 27 to 29 and bring together scientists, researchers, policymakers, academic institutions, industry leaders, startups and international experts.

12 themes spanning AI, healthcare and space

The official programme lists 12 thematic areas, including artificial intelligence, biotechnology, advanced materials, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, climate and ocean sciences. The event is intended to connect research priorities with practical applications and strengthen India’s science and innovation capabilities.

Deep-tech startups and research partnerships

The PMO says the exhibition will include around 150 deep-tech startup stalls showcasing emerging technologies and indigenous innovations. A Global Connect Networking Event is also planned for more than 300 invited participants from research institutions, academia and industry in India and abroad, with the aim of encouraging international partnerships and industry-academia collaboration.

Why the conclave matters

India’s ability to translate research into products and businesses depends on links among laboratories, investors, startups, universities and established companies. ESTIC provides a platform to discuss those links across fields such as semiconductors, AI, advanced manufacturing and healthcare. Announced plans and exhibition numbers describe the programme; the commercial impact will depend on partnerships and projects that emerge from the discussions.
