New Delhi, November 2, 2026: Air quality across Delhi-NCR deteriorated sharply on Monday, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reported to have touched 428, placing it in the severe category.
The deterioration comes as winter pollution controls take effect and seasonal conditions make it harder for pollutants to disperse. The Economic Times reported that Delhi’s air quality remained between very poor and hazardous levels, with the AQI reaching the severe range.
Health precautions
People with asthma, respiratory or heart conditions, children and older adults should take particular care during severe pollution episodes. Residents can reduce prolonged outdoor exertion, keep indoor spaces as clean as possible and follow medical advice if symptoms worsen.
Check local readings
AQI can vary significantly between monitoring stations and change through the day. Residents should check current readings from official monitoring dashboards and follow advisories issued by local authorities.
