The National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) has launched two new indices, NDEX and FINNDEX, as it looks to broaden its presence beyond agricultural commodity markets.
NDEX tracks 20 large and liquid stocks, while FINNDEX covers 15 financial companies. The move signals an effort to develop a wider range of market products and reach participants interested in equity-linked benchmarks.
What the new indices track
- NDEX: A basket of 20 large and liquid stocks.
- FINNDEX: A basket focused on 15 financial companies.
The launch expands NCDEX’s product focus into a segment traditionally associated with equity exchanges. Market participants will watch how the indices are adopted and whether additional products follow.
