In a technology-driven initiative to streamline vehicular movement during Independence Day celebrations, Delhi Traffic Police has digitally mapped seven designated parking locations near the Red Fort. The mapping has been carried out in collaboration with Google Maps and the Mappls navigation platform.
QR codes have been generated for each parking location on Mappls, allowing visitors and dignitaries to scan and navigate directly to their designated parking areas. The parking information is also available on Delhi Traffic Police’s official social media handle on X, providing commuters with real-time navigation support.
The initiative aims to reduce unnecessary vehicular movement, improve traffic management, and provide commuters with hassle-free parking and navigation options during one of the capital’s most heavily attended annual events. The use of digital tools reflects the traffic police’s growing embrace of technology to tackle logistical challenges.
